Sterling Rail Services provides freight car repair, wash services and rail car scrapping on a 67 acre facility nestled next to the Rock River in Sterling Illinois, with direct access to Union Pacific’s main line. Our massive 540,000 square foot building contains a multitude of utilities, overhead cranes, high bay ceilings, concrete floors, and crossover tracks that provide the capabilities to switch cars from one track to another inside the building. We are located two miles from Interstate 88, just 100 miles West of Chicago and 40 minutes from the Quad Cities.
